Cheshire East Council, as Local Planning Authority and Minerals and Waste Planning Authority, has prepared this Notice and hereby gives notice of its intention to commence a preparation of a new Local Plan.
The Cheshire East Local Plan will cover the administrative boundary of Cheshire East Council (ONS E06000049), except for the area falling within the Peak District National Park, as shown by the map below.
The new plan will be called ‘The Cheshire East Local Plan’ and will incorporate all of Cheshire East Council’s minerals and waste plan.
The Local Plan timetable is published to the Cheshire East Council Local Plan Consultation website.
Hard copies of the Notice of Intention to Commence Local Plan Preparation and the Local Plan Timetable are available for inspection at Macclesfield Town Hall, Macclesfield and Delamere House, Crewe.
This notice is made available as of 12th June 2026.
The Cheshire East Local Plan is not being prepared as a joint plan with any other Local Planning Authority.
The council expects to publish its Gateway 1 assessment and start the 30-month plan preparation process by 30 October 2026.
