Call for sites FAQs

For residents and interested parties

  • The 2024 call for sites map shows that a site boundary crosses into my land — what can I do?
    • Boundaries are based on submitted information and may contain some inaccuracies. Final boundaries will be confirmed if a site progresses.
  • Are the submitted uses fixed?
    • No. Uses shown reflect what was submitted, not council decisions. These may change following assessment.
  • Why are the boundaries of sites drawn in different colours?
    • Sites are colour-coded by theme and this follows national planning policy guidance. Some sites have been submitted for a variety of uses and further information about the uses can be found by clicking on the relevant site.
  • Can I comment on sites now?
    • Not yet. Sites are shown for information only. Public consultation will take place at various stages of the future plan-making process.

For site promoters

  • My site has been split or merged on the call for sites 2024 map — why?
    • Where multiple submissions overlap, we’ve applied professional judgement to avoid double-counting and submitted site boundaries may have been changed to create logical site parcels on the online map.
  • Can I correct my site boundary or provide updated information?
    • Yes, you can re-submit a site with updated information during the submission window for the call for sites 2026 (coming soon).
  • Can I change the submitted uses – for example from economy and employment to housing and residential?
    • Yes, you can re-submit a site with updated information during the submission window for the call for sites 2026 (coming soon).
